Robert L Waterhouse Jr., MD MBA HSM attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate and medical school education. He completed urology training at Case Western University Hospitals of Cleveland for both residency and a fellowship in stone disease. After finishing training, he initially followed an academic career path with the Urology Department at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. There he became the director of Minimally Invasive Urologic Surgery and Stone Disease. He elected to leave academic medicine in 1999 to start an independent practice of urology in the greater Charlotte metropolitan area. He was the inaugural President and managing partner of the group through 2011, until the practice merged with other regional urology groups to form a large urology group corporation. His role transitioned to become the Chief Medical Officer. In 2017, he chose to pursue a role in population health management with a health insurance company and currently works as a Lead Medical Director for Blue Cross of NC.
Dr. McIntire is a native of Detroit, MI and graduate of Michigan State University and Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed a general surgery internship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN and then went to train in Urology at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI.
After spending some time in private practice, she spent over a decade caring for veterans’ urological needs at both the Hampton VAMC and Aleda E. Lutz VAMC. During her tenure with the Aleda E. Lutz VAMC, Dr. McIntire was also a clinical professor of urology at the Central Michigan School of Medicine. She serves on the executive board of the Hamilton Community Health Network in Flint, MI. She is honored to be a part of the first ever AUA Taskforce on Diversity and Inclusion.
Dr. McIntire is a very active member of the R. Frank Jones Urological Society and is passionate about helping African American students who aspire to become a urologist.

Dr. McWilliams is Chief of Robotic Surgery at the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at Columbia University and Mount Sinai School of Medicine and was named the James J. Peters VAMC Physician of the Year for 2018.
He is a graduate of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Urology Residency Training Program. He completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the National Cancer Institute and is a Lt. CDMR(ret) in the United States Public Health Service.
Dr. McWilliams is an active member of the American Urological Association, the R Frank Jones Urologic Society and the Society of Urologic Oncology. He is the President of the Manhattan Central Medical Society. Dr. McWilliams has an extensive experience in the minimally invasive and robotic surgery and developed the first Robotic Surgery Program within the Veterans Integrated Systems Network 2. Dr. McWilliams is an investigator on multiple research projects involving urologic oncology and health care disparities.
Dr. Deane is a minimally invasive robotic surgeon and endourologist. He is Professor & Chief of the Division of Urology and the Director of Endourology and Robotic Surgery at Howard University. He previously served and Professor of Urology at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and an attending urologist at University of Miami Health System, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and the Bruce W. Carter Miami Veterans Affairs Hospital, where he was Section Chief for Urology. Dr. Deane is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology, a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and holds District of Columbia, Florida and California medical licensure. Dr. Deane also holds a master’s degree in clinical research. Dr. Deane specializes in the minimally invasive management of urologic malignancies including cancers of the prostate, bladder, ureter, and kidney and has extensive experience in robotic surgery for these conditions. He also treats complex kidney stone disease and obstructions of the urinary tract. Dr. Deane has been a mentor for medical students and residents of minority backgrounds throughout his career.
Treasurer
Dr. Ford-Glanton is a dedicated urologist who brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and compassion to the field of urology. She is an alumni of Stanford University and Stanford School of Medicine. Following graduation, she completed her urology training at SUNY Buffalo where she honed her clinical skills and developed a deep understanding of complex of urologic diseases. Driven by a desire for excellence, she pursued further specialization through a fellowship in Andrology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Ford-Glanton has worked both in private practice and academic urology. Most recently she has led a urology outreach clinic at critical access hospitals in rural Missouri. Currently, she is a urology subject matter expert and Medical Director for Evicore. Throughout her career, she has remained a fierce advocate for increasing the numbers of women and underrepresented minorities in medicine and has worked to help serve the most vulnerable in the medical community, by fostering a supportive and empathetic environment that promotes healing and well-being.
John J. McGill, MD, MBA is the Chair of the R.Frank Jones Urological Society Community Prostate Health Fair. He is a General Urologist practicing in Southwest Georgia. Dr. McGill has functioned as the founder and medical lead of multiple highly acclaimed and award-winning collaborative community health initiatives in Southwest Georgia, including PSA screening events, and COVID health, wellness and literacy campaigns.
Dr. McGill is the 2024 Zero Prostate Cancer Bold for Blue Health Equity Award winner. He earned his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he graduated with honors. He then attended Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, where he earned his MD, with honors. He then completed his research fellowship at the Andrology Center for Reproductive Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic prior to completing his Urology residency at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. McGill then obtained his MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology.
Dr. McGill has an interest in health care delivery, education and sustainability in vulnerable communities, both nationally and internationally.
Social Action Media Committee Chair
Dr. Scotland completed her medical degree and doctorate from Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University, her urology residency at Thomas Jefferson University and an endourology fellowship at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Scotland is now an Assistant Professor at UCLA, where she serves as Associate Director of the Endourology Fellowship and Chief of Endourology Research. Her clinical practice has focused on the treatment of kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia and upper tract urothelial carcinoma. Her basic research at UCLA investigates stone pathogenesis and the physiology of peristalsis. She has a particular clinical research interest in developing techniques aimed at improving quality of life for nephrolithiasis patients and has focused recent work on patient engagement with medical management regimens. She is the President of the Collaborative for Research in Endourology (CoRE), an international group of endourologists focused on developing innovative solutions to the care of kidney stone patients. She is the Vice President of the Society for Infection and Inflammation in Urology and is part of the international Executive Committee of the Endourology Academy, an online platform that provides a structured format for the learning of skills in endourology.
Dr. Scotland has engaged in wide-ranging mentorship of students and trainees from grade school through to fellow urologists. As the Director of Resident Outreach for the R. Frank Jones Urological Society, she developed the Urology Resident Mentorship Program, a nationwide program that provides mentorship to residents underrepresented in medicine. Dr. Scotland is the current chair of the Social Action Media Committee for the R Frank Jones Urological Society. She also serves as the head of pipeline activities for the Department of Urology at UCLA where she has partnered with a number of local organizations to develop ongoing mentorship and engagement programs for school children with an interest in STEM. Dr. Scotland has organized systematic career and research mentorship for undergraduate and medical students underrepresented in medicine.

Dr. Denise Asafu-Adjei is a trailblazing, dynamic award-winning urologist and researcher. A proud 1st generation Ghanaian-American, hailing from Bronx, NY, she graduated from the world-renowned Bronx High School of Science. She went on to attend the esteemed Carnegie Mellon University, earning a Bachelor of Science and Minor in Healthcare Policy and Management. During her college years, she solidified her dedication to medicine, scientific research, and developed a strong interest in health policy and broader health system issues. She obtained her M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School (Go Blue!).
During medical school, she took a year off to obtain a Master’s in Public Health from the prominent Harvard School of Public Health, with a focus on Healthcare Management. Urology proved to be the perfect intersection for her passion for surgery, general love for engaging with people, and a unique ability to connect with others on sensitive issues. She completed her Urology residency at the distinguished Columbia University Irving Medical Center, becoming the first Black woman to complete this residency in 2020. She joined the ranks of the 2% of Black urologists in the United States. Dr. Denise completed a competitive Fellowship in Andrology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), becoming an expert in male infertility and sexual dysfunction.
She is currently an Assistant Professor of Urology at Loyola University Chicago-Stritch School of Medicine, where she serves as the Medical Director of Male Reproductive Medicine. She also holds a dual appointment at the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health.
Dr. Denise strives to utilize her clinical research to help healthcare systems achieve equitable access for patients and high-quality healthcare for male reproductive and sexual dysfunction services. She is also passionate about mentorship and continues to actively mentor medical students and residents. Finally, she seeks to ultimately create and expand urological exchange programs and partnerships in her family’s homeland Ghana and other African countries.
Dr. Denise is an active member of various professional organizations and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She serves on the Alumni Board of Carnegie Mellon University and is on the Medical Advisory Board for ForHims©.
She enjoys leisure international travel, golf, musicals, political history, cooking. She also loves spending time with family and friends.
